Dr. Tanu Goyal

Senior Fellow

Tanu M. Goyal is a Senior Fellow at ICRIER and currently co-leads the Growth, Employment, and Macroeconomy (GEM) vertical. She brings nearly two decades of experience in policy-focused research. In recent years, her work has centred on advancing India’s inclusive growth agenda, with a focus on areas such as micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), gender issues viewed through the lens of women-led development and free trade agreements. She has authored numerous research papers, reports, and opinion articles in leading newspapers, and has co-authored a book on India’s special economic zones (Springer) and co-edited a volume on the India–European Union free trade agreement (Sage Publications). Tanu holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Centre for International Trade and Development and a PhD from the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
