Sanchit Gupta is a Research Associate at ICRIER, working in the Growth, Employment and Mobility (GEM) vertical. His research focuses on development economics, labour markets, structural transformation, gender, and rural development. He is particularly interested in understanding the drivers of changing employment patterns in India through the use of large-scale household surveys, administrative data, and spatial analysis. His current work includes harmonizing the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) across multiple rounds to study labour market dynamics and female labour force participation. His broader research interests span agriculture, technology adoption, public policy, and evidence-based economic development. He previously worked with the Agriculture Policy, Sustainability and Innovation (APSI) vertical within ICRIER and with the University of Chicago Trust at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
